Deploying IBM Rational Team Concert Eclipse client on a 64-bit Windows machine

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Can IBM Rational Team Concert Eclipse client be installed on a 64-bit Windows machine?

Cause

There is only 32-bit version of Rational Team Concert Eclipse client available for download. Users want to know whether there is also a 64-bit version, or whether the 32-bit version can be installed onto a 64-bit operating system.

Answer

IBM Rational Team Concert Eclipse client can be installed on a 64-bit Windows machine.

However, the client needs to be installed in the 32-bit mode. Both IBM Installation Manager install and the plain zip install have worked well using a 32 bits JRE in 64 bits architectures.

There is no standard 64 bits install, neither with Installation Manager nor the plain zip file.
