A CWLLG2229E error occurs when logging into the Process Designer for IBM Business Process Manager (BPM)

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

You can create a new user, or associate a user that you get from LDAP, and give it the Operator or Deployer role. Then, you can access the Process Center with these users through the normal URL. However, when you attempt to log in with the same users through Process Designer, it does not work.

Symptom

When you try to log into Process Designer using the normal http://localhost/ProcessAdmin URL, you receive an error message that says: "You are not authorized to use the Process Designer."

In the log file, you should see text that is similar to the following messages:

0000004e wle           E   CWLLG2229E: An exception occurred in an EJB call.  Error: You are not authorized to use the Process Designer com.lombardisoftware.client.security.AuthorizationDeniedException: You are not authorized to use the Process Designer

Cause

The user has not been granted authorization to use the Process Designer.

Resolving the problem

Add the user as a tw_author in the Process Admin Console. This process is described in the Restricting access to the Process Admin Console topic within the information center.
