Job for indexing all searchs in contentstore fails

Troubleshooting


Problem

Job to create an index crashes within 15 minutes resulting in following error message:

Symptom

CNC-MON-0002; Inconsistent run history detected and purged by the Monitoring Service;
CNC-MON-0036; Recovered from an unexpected server crash. The task history may not have been written completely;

Resolving The Problem

In this specific scenario, the dispatcher memory was set too low i.e 768. Increasing the memory to 1024 resolved the issue.

Steps:

  1. Open Cognos Configuration
  2. Navigate to Environment / IBM Cognos Services / <Service> - 'Maximum memory in MB' = 1024
  3. Save and restart.

Note: The memory increase is dependant on available resources so it may need to be adjusted accordingly.
