Content

IBM Forms Server - Webform Server has a new translator.properties entry called "fcMode" that enables switching from the traditional "forms" to a new "memory" mode. The previous default "forms" mode refers to configuring the fcCacheSize setting to control how many forms fit into the Form Cache size. The new "memory" mode refers to configuring the fcMemoryThresholdSize (in megabytes) setting to control how much memory is available to the application.

With this new memory counting ability, you are no longer required to configure how big the fcCacheSize should be given different form sizes, or the memory available variables. The fcMemoryThresholdSize is set by default to be 512MB and should be configured to be the amount of physical memory (minus the memory consumed by the OS) on the system.

It is important to note that detailed system testing should be performed when any aspect of server tuning is changed.
