InfoSphere DataStage XML Job Fatal Errors due to not removed scratch directory

Troubleshooting


Problem

Fatal Errors like "Failure during execution of operator logic" and "A condition occurred which shouldn't be possible. Program maintenance error. This is always a bug. Please report it" during the execution of XML job

Cause

The issue is related with XML Pack run time. It creates scratch directory but does not remove it. The successful code change will remove whatever scratch directory it creates.

Diagnosing The Problem


XML stage jobs aborts with the following error in job logs:

XML_Writer,0: Failure during execution of operator logic.

XML_Writer,0: Fatal Error: A condition occurred which shouldn't be
possible. Program maintenance error. This is always a bug. Please
report it.

Transformer_476,0: Failure during execution of operator logic.

Resolving The Problem

Apply the patch : JR40774
