Sametime server upgrade fails with ' "" could not be found in the registry' error

This technote applies to IBM Sametime 8.5.2 Interim Feature Release 1

Sametime server upgrade fails during ejbdeploy with ' "" could not be found in the registry' message.

This exception can happen during an upgrade when an OSGi configuration cache was not cleared as expected.

To resolve the problem:

1. Delete the contents of the following directories except for the config.ini file, if it exists:


2. Run the following script on both the DMgr node and the affected node:


AIX, IBM i, and Linux

3. Perform the server upgrade again.
