Question
What do you need to know if you plan to use IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) V8 and V8.5 and IBM HTTP Server (IHS) V8 and V8.5with IBM Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, or RequisitePro?
Cause
Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, and RequisitePro Web components cannot be installed until WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server are installed.
Answer
IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server must be installed prior to deployment of Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest and Rational RequisitePro web components.
The following table shows the supported configurations of IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server and Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest and Rational RequisitePro.

Note that WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server must be at the same major version.
Beginning with version 8, WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server are installed using the IBM Installation Manager, simplifying installation and providing support for new installation capabilities. See What's new in IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.0 for more information.
