Can the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION field be used in a Query Based Report ?

Question & Answer

Question

Can the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION field be used in a Query Based Report ?

Answer

Please check if DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION is a persistent field or not.

- Go to the Database Configuration application.

- Open the object having the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION attribute. eg) WORKORDER

- Go to the Attribute tab and find the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION attribute.

As you can see, the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION attribute is not persistent. This means that this field does not exist on disk in a database table but only exists as a memory structure.

So the answer is no, the DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION field cannot be used in a Query Based Report.

Any non-persistent fields such as DESCRIPTION_LONGDESCRIPTION cannot be used in Query Based Report.

To add longdescription in a QBR report, you can configure the Work Order ROS (Report Object Structure) to include the child Long Description object using the relevant relationship.
