Even though the Rational Synergy users are in a group that has the "Log on locally" privilege to the Windows-based Synergy server, they cannot start Rational Synergy sessions in the traditional mode. Users see an invalid username or password error message.
Adding Rational Synergy users to a Windows group and managing the privileges of the group is a convenient way to administrate these users when they connect to the server using traditional mode.
To ensure that users can start traditional mode sessions, the group must have "log on locally" privileges added to the server. If the server is a domain controller, which should not be used, then the users or group of users must also have the "Access this computer from the network" privilege.
