Problem(Abstract)

Because of an ownership change on $CCM_HOME/bin/cmsynergy, running the cmsynergy command in a UNIX environment can silently fail without displaying an error message dialog box, STDOUT, or log file.

Symptom

Because of an ownership change on $CCM_HOME/bin/cmsynergy, running the cmsynergy command in a UNIX environment can silently fail without displaying an error message dialog box, STDOUT, or log file.


Cause

The ownership of $CCM_HOME/bin has been changed from ccm_root to user/group root. Starting cmsynergy as root user is known to change these ownerships.

Environment

UNIX.

Resolving the problem

As user root, set $CCM_HOME to the installation path and set $PATH to $CCM_HOME/bin:$PATH.


Then run this command:

ccm_install -c
