ITCAM4Tx - RPT File Export to AMC fails - Connect error BWMEC0003E
Using RPT v8 Workbench, File export -> Connect to AMC with Host = <amc host> and use default port (1976) option, the "select Projects" window shows error BWMEC0003E.
detailed error message seen is : "Connect error BWMEC0003E Unable to connect to Application Management Console on the host named <amc_host_name>"
So you can't export any RPT script to AMC agent.
One possible cause is a port conflict on port number : 1976
Note: This error may also occurs if you have an incorrect version of the ITCAM Rational plugin installed. For example, If you have the v7.x version of the plugin installed on RPT, and try to export to ITCAMfTx AMC agent v7.y, the BWMEC0003E error is displayed too
In that case, may sure you install the right version of ITCAM Rational integration plugin package on RPT system for your environment.
Diagnosing the problem
Check if you have another product already running on the AMC system and using port 1976 as well
Using https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21454345 technote to enable RPT tivoli plugin traces, and reviewing trace-eclipse.log file, after reproducing the problem, can be helpful
Resolving the problem
Making sure that port # 1976 is opened and used only by the AMC (T3) agent is a must have, in order for the RPT Tivoli Rational export plugin to work correctly.
