Problem
When CICS OS changes optimizer products are sometimes added to the OS and utilized. This can result in S0C4 abend in Gentran batch jobs, or Abend0c4 error.
Symptom
Hyperbuf; Rocket's SOFTWORKS PERFORMANCE ESSENTIAL
Cause
A product called HYPERBUF is installed. When programs EBDI060 and EBDI080 are
run, an abend is issued when trying to open the alternate indexes.
Or a product called Rocket's software performance essentials is installed. When inbound or outbound editor jobs are run an abend is issued.
Resolving The Problem
Gentran is not tested with third party VSAM optimizer products.
Gentran cannot be certified to run properly when these products are installed, try removing or turning off these products during Gentran processing.
Example of popular utilities and how to disable them for a job. If allowed to complete this points to a change in the 3rd party with this current OS or Cobol or CICS.
Add one of these statements to the JCL at execution time.
