Troubleshooting

Problem

How do you avoid an XIPT016I messsage when using Secure+ from UNIX to z/OS?

Symptom

ERROR: TCP lost connection. System error is 0.
Remote node error is DMSESMGR SVTM023I **** RECRU: RECEIVE OF VTAM RU FAILED TCP CSPA001E
Sending UNIX to MVS XIPT016I TCP lost the connection. System error is 0. Trace shows error CSPA001E
XIPT016I.

Cause

ERROR: "Node Definition for remote Secure+ node missing"

Resolving The Problem

CSPA001E " Add a node definition for the remote Secure+ configuration file and resubmit." A new remote node is added to the Sterling Connect:Direct for UNIX netmap.cfg file and then Secure+ must be synchronized to this netmap file to create an entry in Secure+ for the Netmap nodes. If any of the remote nodes do not have the Secure+ software, then Secure+ can be turned off in the Secure+ node record for that node. If it is not then the session will be shutdown immediately with little explanation.
