Search Index is stuck in "In Process" Status

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why is my Search Index stuck in "In Process" Status?

Answer

In Sterling Selling and Fulfillment v9.0 onwards, the search index is created through an agent server (Time triggered transaction "Catalog Index Build"). When a new search index is generated from Sterling Business Center (SBC), the "Catalog Index Build" agent eventually processes the request and
creates a search index.

If this agent is not started, or the agent is not able to process the request for some reason, then the new search index will remain in an "In Process" status.

Please make sure that "Catalog Index Build" agent is up and running and processing the messages.

For more information on "Catalog Index Build", see the topic "Configuration Options for Accessing Catalog Index Files" in Distributed Order Management Configuration Guide
