'Total Shipments' attribute in findInventory output shows erroneous values when used for Bundles.

Technote (FAQ)

Question

'Total Shipments' attribute in findInventory output shows erroneous values when used for Bundles.

Answer

'Total Shipments's attribute is to capture the number shipments.

For instance, if a Bundle contains two components(1+1) which are being shipped as two different shipments. So the total number of expected shipments here is 2, but the 'TotalShipments' field shows a value of 3 against it in the findInventory output.

This is not actually an error. This is as per the design that it shows a value different from the actual number of physical shipments. It always follows a pattern. If 'x' is the number of actual shipments, the value exhibited is 'x+n', where n is the number of bundle parents in the findInventory call.

This is because, there is a dummy shipment/ assignment created for each BUNDLE parent. Therefore we see such a behavior.
