An Enterprise Manager option for cleaning up orphaned subscriptions erroneously deletes all subscriptions

Technote (FAQ)

Question

The Clean up Orphaned Subscriptions option in IBM® FileNet® Enterprise Manager malfunctions in the following way: all subscriptions in the object store get deleted as opposed to the orphaned subscriptions only.

Answer

With some exceptions, subscriptions for a IBM FileNet Content Engine object become orphaned when you delete the object. Do not attempt to clean up these orphaned subscriptions by using the following malfunctioning option in Enterprise Manager: Clean up Orphaned Subscriptions. This option deletes all subscriptions in the object store as opposed to the orphaned subscriptions only.
