Tree applet is not loaded when opening the module or the view

Problem(Abstract)

The tree applet is not loaded when opening the module or a view. A blank page or a spinning wheel is displayed for a long time.

Symptom

The applet console shows one of the following error messages.

Error message 1:

Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(Unknown Source)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(Unknown Source)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source)
at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source)
at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source)

Error message 2:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-2" java.lang.InternalError: couldn't create component peer
    at sun.awt.windows.WComponentPeer.checkCreation(Unknown Source)
    at sun.awt.windows.WComponentPeer.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at sun.awt.windows.WCanvasPeer.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at sun.awt.windows.WPanelPeer.<init>(Unknown Source)

Cause

The error message 1 can occur due to network latency.

Error message 2 can occur due to issues with the client side JRE.


Resolving the problem

Ensure that you are using the latest JRE.

To resolve the issue if the error message 1 is displayed, perform the following steps:

1. Clear the browser cache.

2. Close the browser.

3. Go to Start->Control Panel.

4. Open Java Control Panel.

5. Select the tab Java and click on the view button.

6. Select the tab User.

7. Edit the Runtime parameters for the JRE configured for the desired browser, and include the following arguments:

-Dsun.net.client.defaultConnectTimeout=120000 -Dsun.net.client.defaultReadTimeout=120000

8. Make sure that the entry made in the step 7 is copied to the correspondingJRE setting defined in the tab System.

9. Click OK.

10. Start the browser.

To resolve the issue if the error message 2 is displayed, perform the following steps:

1. Clear the browser cache.

2. Close the browser.

3. Go to Start->Control Panel

4. Open Java Control Panel.

5. Select the tab Advanced.

6. Expand Java Plug-in .

7. Clear the check box Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in.

8. Click Apply.

9. Start the browser.
