You can use the Project Logon options to streamline the process of logging on to projects in the Rational® RequisitePro client for Windows.
These options enable Rational RequisitePro to automate the following actions:
- Populate user information on the Project Logon window with Microsoft® Windows user and domain information.
- Avoid a prompt for credentials when the Automatic Logon feature is enabled and credentials are not valid for an external project.
- Predefine if the Automatic Logon check box will be checked or unchecked when opening Rational RequisitePro.
- Support the "Domain\User" format when running LDAP.
- Predefine if the LDAP Authenticated check box will be checked or unchecked when creating a new user.
By default, the Project Logon options are disabled.
Enabling the Project Logon options
To enable these options, a Windows user with administrative permissions must modify the registry on the computer where the Rational RequisitePro client for Windows is installed. Create a new string value "RqLogonOptions" on the following registry key:
On a 32-bit version of Windows:
On a 64-bit version of Windows:
After the String value "RqLogonOptions" is created, assign a value based on the options that you want to enable.
Get the Windows user name to use as the Rational RequisitePro user information on Project Logon window.
Get the Windows user domain to use in the Rational RequisitePro user information on Project Logon window.
Avoid a prompt for credentials when the Automatic Logon feature is enabled and credentials are not valid for an external project.
Enable the “Automatically Log On” check box by default.
Support an LDAP user name that includes "\".
Enable the “LDAP Authenticated” check box by default.
You can enable one or multiple options.
To enable just one option, set the option that you want for the RqLogonOptions string value. For example, to enable the “Automatically Log On” check box by default, the RqLogonOptions string value should be set to 8.
To enable multiple options, add the options that you want to enable and set the RqLogonOptions string value with the resulting sum. For example, to enable all options, the RqLogonOptions string value should be set to 31, which is the sum of 1+2+4+8+16 = 31.
When the RqLogonOptions value key is set to 3, the RequisitePro user information on the Project Logon window will be populated with the Windows user and domain information in the following format: domain\user. This format is recommended for special LDAP configuration.
This change affects all Rational RequisitePro users in all projects working on the same computer.
Disabling the Project Logon options
You can disable the Project Logon options by removing the string value "RqLogonOptions" or by setting it to 0.
