Internet Explorer 8 performance issue when selecting a large amount of traffic information to display on map and in list

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When using the Internet Explorer 8 browser to access the IBM® Traffic Information Hub version 1.0.0 solution portal, a performance issue occurs if you select traffic layers that include a large amount of traffic data. There is a considerable delay before the map and list are updated with the traffic data corresponding to the traffic layer selection.

Symptom

When you click Select content to display on map and in list, if the traffic layers you have selected include a lot of data, the time taken to render the information is longer than expected. This performance issue only occurs when using an Internet Explorer 8 browser. This issue does not occur when using Firefox or Google Chrome.

Resolving the problem

This issue is fixed in the IBM Traffic Information Hub version 1.0.1. For information about the supported browsers, see the detailed system requirements page.

To prevent this performance issue from occurring in version 1.0.0, use a supported Mozilla Firefox browser.
