Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Database access for the NMAP Unmanaged Asset Importer service can be configured to using either SQL Authentication or NT Authentication to access the BFEnterprise database on a remote MSSQL or DB2 Server.

Resolving the problem

Database access for the NMAP Unmanaged Asset Importer service can be configured to using either SQL Authentication or NT Authentication to access the BFEnterprise database on a remote MSSQL or DB2 Server.

If you are using SQL Authentication, the TEM NMAP Unmanaged Asset Importer will use the same configuration keys as the TEM FillDB Service. For more information on how to configure the TEM FillDB Service to authenticate to a remote database, please see the TEM Remote Database Guide.(https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/wikis/home?lang=en#/wiki/Tivoli%20Endpoint%20Manager/page/Remote%20Database%20Guide)

To use NT authentication, configure the TEM NMAP Unmanaged Asset Importer service to "log on as" the NT Account user, usually the same account being used by FillDB, and restart the service.
