How do I test OSX software in the root account?
To test software installations, browse to Applications > Utilities and launch the Terminal command. Next, type:
Use Process Monitor to verify that bash is running as root. You can now mount disk images and launch your software installation using the command line.
Note that a command prompt running under root privileges is a security risk and you should exit it promptly when finished. To do so, type:
