Resolving the problem
This tool will allow you to use newly released 8.x processes for automatically caching site content for RedHat, Solaris, Centos and SUSE that previously had to be manually downloaded and cached.
1. Make sure the BES Client on the Server is subscribed to the Patch site in question.
2. For Example, from the Console as a Master Operator, navigate to the All Content > Sites > External Sites> Site Name
1. Click on the site name
3. Click on the Computer Subscriptions Tab
The default is No Computers, you need to select the Server and Linux clients. You can use any of the options to target your systems such as Computer name, Server, or OS.
3. Then save the changes and Gather.
4. Navigate to the site such as Linux RPM Patching; Fixlets and Tasks.
Task: BES Relay/Server: Register Download Plug-in for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Or other site such as Task: BES Relay/Server: Register Download Plug-in for SUSE or Task: BES Relay/Server: Register Download Plug-in for Solaris) should become relevant for the Server.
The Download Plug-in programs are Windows programs for installation on the BES server and must be run to use this functionality and run for each site such as Red Hat, SUSE, Centos and Solaris
Note: For MSP's with multiple customer accounts. They will want to add the Relays to the Linux RPM Site. Each relay will need to run the Task: BES Relay/Server: Register Download Plug-in for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or other site such as SUSE or Solaris) and register each customer's vendor account and password.
When running this Fixlet/Task you will be prompted for the vendor site account information such as Red Hat Network Site including: User account, Password, Proxy, etc. specific to the customers account.
