How do I manually validate SHA1 of a file?

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

The following process will allow you to determine the SHA1 value of a file when troubleshooting download errors or creating custom content.

Resolving the problem

To validate file integrity you can use the sha1.exe tool to check the SHA1 value.

Download the sha1.exe tool from https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/wikis/home?lang=en#/wiki/Tivoli%20Endpoint%20Manager/page/Fixlet%20Authoring

From a command prompt window, run the sha1.exe tool as follows:

C:\Downloads>Sha1.exe -s CPMAutoUpdateSetup2_1.0.0.0.exe 577e291e2fbadc2556a38aa522ba62777b65ae96

Compare this calculated SHA1 value with the posted value to validate the file integrity.
