Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When installing the TEM Server onto a computer that previously had the TEM Server installed, you receive the error "Database Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'BFEnterprise'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly. (08004:911)

Resolving the problem

To rectify this problem you will delete the database files and restart the installation using the following steps:

  1. Browse the database server file system for the BFEnterprise.mdf and BFReporting.mdf files. Note their location because you will need it later.
  2. Open your SQL Management tools and connect to the database you are trying to install to.
  3. Right click on the Databases folder and choose Attach.
  4. Click Add, browse to the location of the BFEnterprise.mdf, select the file and click Ok. Do the same for the BFReporting.mdf..
  5. Once both databases have been chosen for attachment, click Ok. Refresh the SQL Server by right clicking the SQL server name and clicking Refresh.
  6. Both databases should now show under databases and can be safely deleted.
  7. Reinstall the TEM Server.
