TEM/BigFix Client Inspector

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What does the TEM client inspector use for Computer Name on a non-windows machines?

Answer

For a non-windows machine the Computer Name in the TEM console will be evaluated on the local machine by the client inspector which will be the equivalent to the value returned for "uname" on the local machine.

For a Windows machine you can get the local Computer Name by using "ping localhost". This should be what is returned and visible in the TEM console for Computer Name.
