Problem(Abstract)

How do I disable Windows automatic updates?

Resolving the problem

There are registry keys to enable and disable information regarding Windows automatic updates if you are going to patch windows machines using BigFix. There may be some information you find useful for turning on or off these settings in the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\windows\Windows Update

Dword NoAutoUpdate 0= enable automatic updates, 1= Disable automatic updates.
Dword RebootRelaunchTimeout 1- 1440 in minutes
Dword RebootWarningTimeout 1-30 in minutes

Dword NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers 0= automatic restart 1= disable automatic restart.
