What rate should I set bandwidth throttling to?

Problem(Abstract)

There are several considerations to make in choosing a throttling rate. How much of you bandwidth is used during peak hours? How much will be used by TEM? How will the responsiveness of your system be affected by throttling? How long will it take to send out a patch?

Resolving the problem

The following table is designed to show the effects various throttling rates will have on a variety of communication methods. These settings are NOT necessarily recommended settings by TEM, but instead are provided to help you get a good feeling for the expected consequences of throttling and choose a throttling rate you conclude to be appropriate for your network.

There are several considerations to make in choosing a throttling rate. How much of you bandwidth is used during peak hours? How much will be used by TEM? How will the responsiveness of your system be affected by throttling? How long will it take to send out a 300KB patch? How about a 10MB patch?
