Is it possible to install the TEM Server on a Domain Controller?
TEM Best Practices does not recommend installing the TEM Server on a server that is also a domain controller.
Resolving the problem
TEM Best Practices does not recommend installing the TEM Server on a server that is also a domain controller. The TEM Server should be installed on a dedicated Windows computer.
However, if you decide you want to install the TEM Server on a domain controller, it may likely have problems.
Active Directory can be pretty resource intensive and may take system resources away from the TEM Server operations causing degradation in TEM Server performance.
Additionally and more importantly, there may be TEM Fixlet/Content conflicts which cause the performance of the client installed on the server to be severely degraded. The client is required on the server for; not only managing the server in the deployment, but also for facilitating the operations of all of the TEM Server extensions and plugins.
