Is it safe to apply multiple Microsoft patches without rebooting a computer?

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

TEM enables applying multiple patches by suppressing reboot requests when possible.

Resolving the problem

Whenever possible, the Fixlet messages will suppress reboot requests so that you can apply multiple actions without rebooting. In addition, each Fixlet message action that runs a Microsoft patch will run Microsoft's Qchain tool to allow multiple patches to be applied without worrying about the patches conflicting.

You also have the option of restarting the computer after any action by configuring the Fixlet action in the Post-Action tab of the take action dialog. Settings are also available on this tab to allow you to prompt the endpoint user with a message that their computer will be restarted. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q296861& for more information about Qchain from Microsoft.
