Question

Why do I receive the error message "Cannot generate SSPI context" when logging into the TEM Console?

Answer

Note: This article only pertains to TEM versions less than 8.2

The error message "Cannot generate SSPI context" when logging into the TEM Console occurs when you are able to communicate with the TEM Server and database but the TEM Console is unable to generate NT Authentication credentials correctly.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Use SQL Authentication instead of NT Authentication when logging into the TEM Console
  2. Check if your computer is on the same domain as the TEM Server.
  3. Try pinging your domain server.
  4. Try connecting from another computer on the network to determine if the problem is localized to your computer.
