Question
Why are ITCAM for RTT Console statistic display values different from my calculations?
Answer
| Here is an explanation of the statistics: The summary statistics are displayed in the shaded area beneath the volume graph (Hourly Average view) or below the line or bar chart (Instance view). For the Hourly Average data, the statistics summarize the data in the volume and response time graphs. For Instance data, the summary statistics include standard deviation. Standard Deviation is an indication of how much the data varies from Average Value. The software calculates the standard deviation and then uses it to calculate the data ranges. This provides a quick summary of the distribution of response times. The ranges are always 68%, 95%, and 99%. The #% range means #% of the response time points fall in this range. |
| All calculations are performed using 32-bit floating point arithmetic. The value is truncated in order to display it on the screen in an aesthetic manner. For example, using the statistic method, the values would be 68,2689492% (1 sigma), 95,4499736% (2 sigma) and 99,7300204% (3 sigma). But the ranges presented by ITCAM RTT Console are 68.00%, 95.00% and 99.00%. |
