Problem(Abstract)
When configuring the predefined regions for the maps of the IBM® Intelligent Transportation solution portal, if you create a region with only two points, the region is not successfully saved and an error message appears.
Symptom
When creating a predefined region in the Regions tab of the Map portlet configuration view, if you do not mark the map with at least three points, the region cannot be saved and the following message appears:
Cannot create region with zero area
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Log on to the IBM Intelligent Transportation solution portal as the Transportation IT Administrator.
- Go to the Map portlet.
- In the portlet display menu, click Configure.
- Click Regions.
- Click New.
- When prompted, draw the region on the map, by clicking once on the first point, and double-clicking on the second point in the map to complete the region.
Result: The error Cannot create region with zero area appears and the region is not saved.
Cause
When creating a predefined region, at least three points must be marked on the map.
Resolving the problem
This behaviour is working as designed. In order to successfully create a region, you must mark out at least three points on the map.
