After logging into iNotes, when one specific user tries to open any message, the user receives the following error and cannot open the message:
"A problem has occurred which may have caused the current operation to fail."
The user sees this error in both iNotes Full Mode and Lite Mode
Resolving the problem
When viewing the details of the error in the iNotes console, more specific information about the error is found:

After review of the Forms85.nsf code, it was found that "AAA.MO" is related to the database NSF name. With this information, a review of the users mail file name was done and found that the mail file name contained a hyphen at the end of it (e.g. mailfile-.nsf).
Once the hyphen was removed from the mail file name, the user no longer received the error and was able regain full functionality of mail in iNotes.
Steps to resolve issue:
1.) Rename the mail file name at the OS and remove the hyphen
2.) Open user's person document and update the "Mail File:" field to new/correct mail file name
3.) If HTTP is running, issue the "tell http refresh" command in the Domino console
