To maintain currency, IBM WebSphere Real Time V3 service refreshes are updated at regular intervals to include the latest IBM SDK, Java™ Technology Edition, Version 7 service refresh. The service refresh number assigned to IBM WebSphere Real Time V3 corresponds exactly to the IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 7 refresh number. For example, IBM WebSphere Real Time V3 Service Refresh 5 contains all updates included in IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 7 Service Refresh 5.

InstallAnywhere installation packages
There are two types of InstallAnywhere packages:
Installing these packages also configures your system, for example by setting environment variables. You must use a user account with ROOT authority to install this type of package.
Installing these packages extracts the files to your system, but does not perform any configuration. This type of package does not require ROOT authority to complete the installation.

Changes to InstallAnywhere unattended installation
If you use an existing response file to install packages without user intervention, you must include the line LICENSE_ACCEPTED=TRUE in the response file to indicate that you have read the terms of the license agreement and confirm your acceptance. This line is automatically added if you create a new response file by using the attended installation process.

When an applet or Web Start application is started, a warning is displayed if a later release of the runtime environment is available that contains security updates. A user can choose to continue or block the application from continuing. If the runtime environment is unable to determine whether a later release is available, a similar warning message is shown if the runtime environment is more than six months old.

This fix pack includes a change to the default value for the RMI property java.rmi.server.useCodebaseOnly from false to true, which might cause unexpected errors for applications that use RMI. For more information, see http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/rmi/enhancements-7.html.
