ObjectServer server name changed

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Where in Impact does the ObjectServer hostname need updating?

Answer

The places where the ObjectServer hostname is referenced in Impact apart from:

    $NCHOME/impact/etc/[ImpactServerName]_server.props

are any ObjectServer DataSources pointed at that ObjectServer - the .ds files in:

    $NCHOME/impact/etc

but it is best to edit these via the GUI to ensure the changes are recorded in version control.

One also has to consider the use of ObjectServer based authentication as covered in the documentation section "Configuring Netcool/OMNIbus ObjectServer user authentication":

If Netcool/Impact ObjectServer authentication is already configured and you want to reconfigure the authentication, you must run the disable command, update the impactncos.properties file, and run the enable command.
