Moving an Existing Tivoli Storage Manager Server into a Windows Domain

Question

How do you move a Tivoli Storage Manager server that already exists into a different and/or new Windows domain?

Answer

1. Log into the Windows system using the Windows domain account.
2. Open Windows Services window.
3. Right click on "DB2-DB2tsm1-Server1" service and choose Properties.
4. Click on the Log On tab.
Browse for the domain user.
Enter in the password in the Password field.
Retype the password in the Confirm Password field.
5. Perform steps 3 and 4 again, but for the Tivoli Storage Manager server instance (ex: Server1).
6. Log into the Windows system using the local user account that owns the Tivoli Storage Manager instance.
7. Open a DB2 command line and issue:

    set db2instance=<server instance>
    db2 connect to tsmdb1
    db2 grant dbadm with dataaccess with accessctrl on database to user <domainUser>

Example:
    db2 grant dbadm with dataaccess with accessctrl on database to user tsmuser

8. Log into the Windows system using the Windows domain account.
9. Start the Tivoli Storage Manager Server
