CSSMTP is canceled when access to JESSPOOL is denied

Troubleshooting

Problem

We have activated Communications Server Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (CSSMTP) on a system where it does not have sufficient JESSPOOL access to process the waiting mail on the JES spool. However, CSSMTP is terminated as a result of being cancelled by the security product.

Symptom

13.44.17 STC03038  TSS7251E Access Denied to SERVAUTH
13.44.17 JOB03010  TSS7251E Access Denied to JESSPOOL
13.44.17 JOB03013  TSS7251E Access Denied to JESSPOOL
13.44.17 STC03038
EZD1813I CSSMTP jesjobname / jesjobid ON SMTP COMPLETED WITH ERRORS. SPOOL FILE DISPOSITION IS HOLD
13.44.17 JOB03013  TSS7100E 019 J=CSSMTP A=CSSMTP T=N/A F=STC - Excessive Violations

Diagnosing The Problem

CSSMTP is being cancelled by Top Secret after Top Secret issues the following message:

    TSS7100E 019 J=CSSMTP A=CSSMTP T=N/A F=STC - Excessive Violations

Top Secret will cancel STC after 10 access violations.

Resolving The Problem

Provide CSSMTP with sufficient JESSPOOL access. For more information, see the topic "Security for CSSMTP" in Chapter 27 ("Mail on z/OS") in the z/OS Communications Server IP Configuration Guide.
