How to find all files associated with an Approach file so they can be moved

Technote (FAQ)

Question

You have moved an Approach .APR file. The file will not open at its new location. The error "Couldn't find database 'Filename' " appears. How do you open the file?

Cause

The Approach file, .APR, stores the path and name of the database file(s). If you moved or deleted the database file(s), Approach does not know the correct location.

Answer

Approach file properties contains every database associated with the approach file.

To access Approach file properties, go to the menu bar and choose File -> Approach File properties.

The Databases section of Approach File properties shows associated databases and their current directory.

Copy ALL databases listed, in addition to the .apr file, to the new location in the same directory.

This will correct the error message, and the file will open.
