Unable to assign License Keys to Users

Technote (troubleshooting)


Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to upload license keys to the IBM Rational Jazz Team Server results in zero licenses available to be assigned.

Symptom

On the License Key Management page in Rational Team Concert, the license will show zero licenses total and zero available to be assigned.

Cause

This occurs because the number of licenses purchased needs to be entered into the License Key Management.

Resolving the problem

The following steps will help to properly upload a license key.

  1. Click Edit to bring up the Configure Client Access License Keys screen on the main License Key Management page, under Client Access License Types,

  2. Enter the amount of licenses purchased.

    Note: Ten licenses were entered in the image below.

  3. Click on Finish to finalize the changes


You should now see the correct amount displayed on the License Key Management page, and be able to assign the licenses to users.
