An issue has been identified in Statistics 19.0 where after a sort procedure, incorrect data is displayed and can be saved to the file.
There are two situations that can cause this issue to occur:
- The user must sort using a right-click on variable name, choose ascending or descending order, then go into Variable View and do nothing, then go back to Data View, and save data using the same dataset name. In this scenario, the first cell of the sort variable will be the original value, while the rest of the variable and all other variables will be in sorted order.
- The user must have a cell selected, sort using syntax on that variable, then go into Variable View and do nothing, then go back to data view, and save data using the same dataset name. In this scenario, the selected cell will be in original order, while the rest of the variable and all other variables will be in sorted order.
This issue has been logged as APAR PM36208.
An interim fix is available that corrects this issue. Installation of Fix Pack 1 is a pre-requisite to applying the interim fix. Both the Fix Pack and the Interim Fix for this issue are available through Fix Central at http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral under Information Management
The fix will prevent the issue from occurring after it is applied but it will not correct any data that may already have been erroneously updated. In these situations, the data must be manually corrected.
