Component MSMAPI32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered

Troubleshooting


Problem

When in the contributor admin console and you click on the email icon, you get the below error message.

Symptom

Unable to process the toolbar clieck correctly
Component MSMAPI32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly
registered: a file is missing.

Resolving The Problem

1. Confirm that email is installed on the machine.
2. Locate the missing file "msmapi32.ocx"
from another workstation and then copy the file to you workstation
3. The file needs to reside in the Windows/System32 folder
4. Open a Windows command prompt or type the following syntax from the
Windows "Run"
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\msmapi32.ocx
5. Once the file has been registered, test and confirm if issue has
been resolved.
