How to identify 32-bit versus 64-bit installations of Statistics.

Technote (FAQ)

How can the bit-version -- 32-bit or 64-bit - of a Statistics installation be determined?

There are several methods that can be used to determine the bit-version of an installed Statistics product:

- Method 1 (Installation Folder Location): IF the product is installed on a 64-bit Windows operating system and the Statistics product is installed in the 'Program Files (x86)' folder, THEN the installed version is 32-bit. This method works for all versions of Statistics.

- Method 2 (Help > About): The window displayed after select the Help menu 'About' option will indicate the bit-version of the product. This method is only valid for Statistics versions 20 and higher.

- Method 3 (File Size): This method is most applicable to determining the bit-version of Statistics 19. To apply this method, locate the following file in the Statistics 19 installation directory: spssengine.exe. The size of the 'spssengine.exe' file will indicate the bit-version of the Statistics 19 installation:

32-bit = approximately 37 kilobytes (37KB).
64-bit = Approximately 47 kilobytes (47KB)
