Problem
I've been asked to provide McDonald's omega estimate of reliability for my scale. Can SPSS Statistics provide this for me?
Resolving The Problem
SPSS Statistics does not currently provide any estimates of McDonald's omega. An enhancement request has been filed with SPSS Development. The R psych package, available at http://www.personality-project.org/r/, contains routines for computing omega. This can be run in R without SPSS Statistics, or you can input data and R commands via the R plugin or R Essentials, available from the SPSS Community on IBM developerWorks at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral.
