Does SPSS Statistics offer generalized linear mixed models?

Technote (troubleshooting)

Can SPSS Statistics fit generalized linear mixed models?

Resolving the problem

Yes, the GENLINMIXED procedure in the Advanced Statistics module handles generalized linear mixed models. It is available in the menus via Analyze>Mixed Models>Generalized Linear. Note that GENLINMIXED uses measurement levels as defined in the data to determine whether predictors are treated as factors (Nominal and Ordinal) or covariates (Scale) and to determine which types of models can be specified for the response variable. Also, in Versions 19 and 20, only Model Viewer output is available. Beginning with Version 21, the option to have pivot table output instead of Model Viewer output is available under Edit>Options, Output tab, Output Display section.
