Troubleshooting
Problem
I'd like to be able to install my licensed copy of SPSS for Windows to an external hard drive so that I can move it between computers without having to install it separately. There are utilities available that claim to be able to capture all required Windows registry settings in order to enable just this sort of hot-swapping of applications between machines. Will SPSS work properly if I do this?
Resolving The Problem
No, this is not a supported installation method, and SPSS will not function properly. The licensing technology we use will not permit a license file created for one machine to work on a different machine
