Error 1335 encountered during installation

Technote (troubleshooting)


During installation of SPSS for Windows, I am prompted with the following error message after initialization of the Install Wizard:

" Error 1335 *.cab required for install "

The installation aborts after clicking OK. What is happening?

Resolving the problem

This error applies if there was an error during the CD to hard drive transfer or the CD is damaged.

1. First, copy the SPSS folder to your c: drive.

2. Upon completion of copying the folder go to Start->Run.

3. In the open field add C:\SPSS\setup.exe, select OK. SPSS should now install.

If this fails, find out if Error 1335 occurs on another machine. If it does, this indicates a problem with the CD. Please call customer support (800) 521-1337 to obtain a new CD
