Identity Insight 4.2 compatibility w/ SQL Server 2008

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Will the IBM Relationship Resolution (Identity Insight) 4.2 support SQL Server 2008?

Cause

The 4.2 documentation for "System Requirements for Databases" only lists the following for SQL Server:

# Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with SP4 and the post-SP4 hotfix (see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 899761 at http://support.microsoft.com)
# Microsoft SQL Server 2005, service pack 2

Answer

SQL Server 2008 support was added starting in Identity Insight version 8.0.

However, 4.2 does not support it officially, and support for SQL Server 2008 will likely not be added since it was added into version 8.0. The recommendation is to upgrade Identity Insight to 8.0 before migrating to SQL Server 2008.
