Problem
Unable to open IBM Cognos GUI using cogconfig.sh. Getting Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /java/1.5.0sr5/jre/bin/xawt/libmawt.so (/usr/lib/libXft.so) error.
Symptom
Getting error while opening Cognos Configuration GUI.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /java/1.5.0sr5/jre/bin/xawt/libmawt.so (/usr/lib/libXft.so) error.
Cause
Missing libraries used by the JRE
Resolving The Problem
Install the libXFT.so and libXtft.so.6 shared object libraries into the /usr/lib folder.
You can refer to Software Environment link for the Cognos specific OS specific library versions.
