Use the command line to add an Archive File to a Collection

Abstract

When using the command line to register an Archive File or update the Directory information for an Archive File, you can now add the file to one or more Archive File Collections. Supply the name of the Archive File with the COLLECTION parameter.

Use the following command line syntax to register an Archive File or update the Directory for an Archive File. Syntax and information is included here for the COLLECTION parameter only. See the Archive User Manual for full details on the command line interface.

 /ARCMAINT OPERATION={REGISTER|UPDATE} AFFILE=
[“]arcfilename.af[”] 
        OUTPUT=filename SERVER=(local) COLLECTION="col1[,col2,col3...]"

COLLECTION="col1 [,col2, col3...]"
List the name of one or more Archive File Collections. Enclose the collection name in double quotes. If you specify multiple collection names, separate the names with commas. If you specify a collection name that does not exist, the process fails. If you specify multiple collection names, if any of the collections do not exist, the process fails.
