Error during post-install configure phase occurs when installing Rational Application Developer Code Coverage Extension if installation path contains parenthesis

Troubleshooting


Problem

If the installation path for Rational Application Developer Code Coverage Extension has a parenthesis character, then the installation fails and a "post-install configure" phase error message displays. The log file contains the message "plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.javaprofiler was unexpected at this time."

Symptom

During installation, an Installation Failed window appears. In the details section, the following error message displays:


    Error during "post-install configure" phase

If you view the referenced log file, you see the following message:
    plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.javaprofiler was unexpected at this time.

Cause

There is a parentheses character in the installation path that you entered for Rational Application Developer Code Coverage Extension.
For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\CCExt

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the problem:

  1. Delete the installation directory.
  2. Install Rational Application Developer Code Coverage Extension using a path that does not contain parentheses characters. For example,  C:\Program Files\IBM\CCExt
